Its 33-year-old founder Yola Yu Jie believes in nurturing creative talents who are more than capable in envisioning and offering ideal spaces for homes and commercial premises alike, defined by impeccable craftsmanship and affordability.
What is the goal or aspiration for the company?
We want to create hassle-free renovation journeys and experiences for our customers in this industry.
What spurred you to enter this line?
I wanted to be able to offer a comfortable and reliable service to our clients, and my desire from the outset is not only to build houses but sanctuaries, whether it is an intimate living space or a commercial environment.
How does Starry Homestead stand out from its competitors?
We achieve differentiation by providing better services throughout the renovation process. Conventionally, renovation is a tough journey. Not only do renovators and designers have to think about all the layout, they also have to pre-plan all the schedules themselves, manage contractors, and follow up consistently with them to make sure the progress is up-to-date without any delay. To improve this process, we implement modern technological systems to provide hassle-free experiences from design to renovation. In addition to that, we strive to understand our clients’ needs and balance them with a keen sense of aesthetic through workshops. With the digitalisation of our work procedures and systems, we endeavour to build a reliable branding.
To what would you attribute your success?
I believe in setting very clear goals for my staff and focusing them on strong execution supported by excellent and close-knit teamwork.
This has helped us in achieving our vision.
What is a typical day for you like?
First it’s family time in the morning with kids, then I head off to work and have meetings with our staff. I typically leave my office to pick up the kids at about 4pm, and spend rest of the evening with my family.
What are your expansion plans for the business?
I would like to build a stronger foundation and expand to the regional markets such as Malaysia and China.
